Buiten- of binnenzijde - materiaal - plaatsing en maten
Losse briefkleppen zijn er voor de buitenzijde of de binnenzijde van een deur of voordeur. Roestvrije materialen (inox, messing) of oppervlaktebehandelingen (PVD) dragen voor buitenkleppen de voorkeur. Voor binnenkleppen worden dikwijls tochtweringen of tochtborstels voorzien. Deze zorgen voor isolatie van koude en geluid. De meeste kleppen worden horizontaal geplaatst. Sommige kleppen kunnen verticaal worden geplaatst. Let dan wel op de valrichting van de klep. Verder is het van belang dat u de afmetingen van de opening in de deur kent. Men spreekt in deze context dan ook over buitenmaat (de totale afmetingen) en binnenmaat of inworp (de maat van de opening in de deur).
